Spring is one of the best times to visit the Drakensberg, and we are about to enter the Spring season, officially September 1 2018.
The dry, cool Winter is fading away, and the days are getting longer. The seasonal vegetation is starting its annual growth and there appear to be more birds than normal. A little wind blows, the sign of the coming rains.
The days are getting warmer but are not overwhelming, and the nights are losing the bite of winter, so you can comfortably enjoy the evenings under the Southern Stars.
The grasses and vegetation is changing from the winter browns to the summer greens, and everything looks alive.
Take a short weekend or midweek break at Ondini and enjoy the wonders of the Berg.
The walks are pleasant and comfortable, not too hot and not too cold. If this is a first time walking in the Berg try the Sterkspruit Falls walk, which is a pleasant 1 – 1.5 hours walk with a easy walk down, and a slightly less easy walk back up again.
